Newark Jobs Fair 2013
Future Prospects recently attended Newark Jobs Fair, where almost 500 people visited the various stalls. Those attending the event were given information of live vacancies, apprenticeships, volunteering opportunities as well as support with interview techniques, CV development and application forms.
The annual event was at Newark Town Hall and organised by Newark and Sherwood District Council, Jobcentre Plus and Nottinghamshire County Council to promote current employment opportunities to local residents and to support local employers with their recruitment needs.
Julie Beresford, Economic Growth Officer with Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “This a great free event with which the council can really help people living in the district. Not only does it help the unemployed but it is as equally beneficial to local businesses that have or will have job vacancies in the near future.
Future Prospects were on hand with over 10 local job vacancies being advertised and many potential candidates registered on the Future Prospects website as well as applying for various roles. Apprentice and Trainee Recruitment Consultant Kim McNulty baked cupcakes to encourage people to come and talk and gain free advice from the Future Prospects team on applying for roles, interview hints and tips as well as CV critique and support.
